Choosing the right photographer can be a daunting task. Moreover when most of the websites are faceless portfolios. It is important for me to be clear about what I offer and who I am as a person. More than a photographer you are hiring an expert with a specific approach.

Are we a good match ? I summed up for you my working philosophy during a wedding for you answer this question.

My approach to wedding photography

My credo is to adopt a photojournalistic approach. But I do not qualify to be a “pure photojournalist”. The reason is because I do intervene sometimes when I do not get what you need, when I see an opportunity for a great image. I sometimes guive directions during downtimes or simply because you need guidance.

I will do my best to let things flow on their own and work my magic as an inside witness. Therefore I won’t call you out to look at the camera. I want authentic images and real moments. Those are the images that tell a story and take value over time because of their authenticity. Like little time-machines bringing up memories when you look at them.

Let’s have a look at what I mean.

Photojournalism. The capture of small moments

I use the photojournalistic approach for the majority of the wedding. I do not pose or go through a blind shotlist. The images you can see below are the result of this approach and were captured on the spot, without directions. Look at them closely you will se they all contain a little detail or a story or two. They show what the characters were doing or feeling. As a result, those are the authentic images that make the backbone of my photography.

Refined Images. Beauty through creativity

During a wedding there will be many opportunities for me to use your ideas and my creativity and experience to produce great images. Those are the moments where I must break the rules of photojournalism in order to get the best image. The posed moments happen during the getting ready because we need a lovely, well crafted portrait of the bride in her gown for example. Also during the couple session as most of my clients need guidance Finally, we pose during the formal portraits with the family and group shots.

I like to use various photographic techniques to create unique images with an artistic approach. I use double exposures, creative lighting, dynamic posing flow and the best version of myself in order to let you live your emotions freely

Photography expertise and services

I am commited to grow my business upon mindful values. I do understand that the world changes fast thanks to the new technologies and I want to embrace new medias, new services and new best practices in the wedding photography industry.
This is why I have started provide cinemagraphs and same day edits. I want to go further by asking you to challenge me with services you would like. I am currently testing a way to collect all pictures taken by the guest in order to cull and edit them as part of the photographic memoribilia of your wedding. Let me know if you are interested by this kind of things. Because guests photos get lost and drawn in social medias and I want to give them the life they deserve as part of my services as photo expert, even if I don’t take them personnally.
This is part of my mission: be more than a photographer, be a provider of value and use my expertise in a self-less fashion.
